Today I am proud to say that I am part of a country who can see through color and elect such an inspirational man to be the leader of this country. Obama has an incredible gift. He has the communicating abilities of the great Ronald Reagan and the vigor and motivating talent of Martin Luther King.
On another note, it saddens me that states such as FL, AZ, and CA have passed legislation full of bigotry. Banning same sex marriage and banning homosexuals from adopting children, no matter how you look at it, is wrong. Its heartbreaking to think that there are people who would rather a child not have any parents, or live in miserable foster care environments than to have two loving homosexual parents. As a nation, I have no doubt that just as we were able to see past race and elect a black president, we will some day be able to accept gay people as equal.
